bica // GOAL. Brewing party brings Adams Ave. vibes to El Cajon Blvd.

I feel pretty lucky that building Uptown 11 Studios means I get to chase my friends all around town while they cook up amazing creations.

Saturday night, I got to see two creative forces come together as the chefs from bica made the haul from Adams Avenue down to El Cajon Boulevard to share their delicious porchetta sandwiches at GOAL. Brewing.

I’ve been following along with the bica crew for months now, as they’ve been kind enough to let me call their patio my forward operating base as we build Uptown 11 Studios.

That means I’ve been eating well, but more importantly, I’ve been meeting incredible people.

Day in and out, their patio is teeming with San Diego creatives who share their talents across the community.

Saturday night was no exception — just with a little change of scenery.

MF Domo was spinning records at GOAL.’s primo location overlooking the vibrant scene on El Cajon Boulevard.

He’s been providing the soundtrack to a lot of my photography, his tunes gently humming in my ears as I search for pictures across bica’s patio during the many events they host in the center of Normal Heights.

Behind the counter, bica chefs were doing their thing with their porchetta sandwiches. Photos can’t do this justice. I straight up had forgotten how tasty this is.

There’s no doubt that bica’s chefs are among the top in the city, and the young folks they’re training in the kitchen will be the all star proprietors of their own San Diego restaurants in the years to come.

So it makes perfect sense they paired up with a brewing powerhouse like GOAL. Brewing. They just got named “Best New Brewery” by San Diego Magazine, bringing the award to it’s well-deserved home in our city’s Uptown core.

Here are some more from the night. Don’t miss the next one — come be part of a growing community of creators.
